School in Upstate NY helps Mission of Hope

At the Chateaugay Elementary Central School in upstate NY, the entire school collected funds, made cards and donated all to the Mission of Hope to be distributed to the children in Nicaragua. This was their Christmas project.

In addition, the elementary teachers sent notes home, asking that any Christmas or Holiday gifts for the teachers from students become a “Holiday and Christmas money donation” for the Mission. Over $500 was donated! A heartfelt thanks to all.

Upcoming Mission of Hope Events

January 3, 2011

With the start of the New Year, we are planning a number of events.

January 15 – 2nd Annual Ice Fishing Derby - All proceeds for this event will be used to assist medical aspects of the Mission. Your help is needed in a number of ways, and it can be done right from your home or office. Please contact Paul O’Connell by email at crushbuddy44 @charter.net to offer your help or for more information. Mark your calendars!

January 22 – 4th Annual Schroon Lake Pasta Dinner
Please join us once again for fellowship, friendship, and dinner in support of the Mission of Hope.

Location: Schroon Lake Fire Department
Time: 5:00 p.m. until end of dinner
Donation: $8.00 per person “Take Out” is available

Tickets are available thru Amy Garcia at 518-586-1458 or Mary Garcia 518-586-6413. Many thanks to the Schroon Lake Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. All proceeds will be directed to North Country Mission of Hope for use where they are most needed.

    Friday Evening Spanish Conversation Get-Together

“I am starting a Spanish conversation group on Friday nights..you’re invited! Also, if you know of anybody who is Spanish-speaking in the area they are welcome as well!

Location: Koffee Kat Cafe, 130 Margaret St., Plattsburgh, NY (near corner of Court. St. (next to CornerStone Bookshop)
Time: Fridays, 5-7pm
Date: starts Jan 7th
Purpose: For all who enjoy speaking Spanish and to build community, culture and conversation
Who: Open to all
